How to Choose a Poker Affiliate

Every poker room and club app pays part of your rake to whoever signed you up. If you registered on your own, that share simply stays with the operator.

Poker rooms and club apps pay a share of the rake you generate to whoever brought you in. That is how the whole referral layer of this industry is funded, and it runs whether or not you take part in it.

Which means there is no neutral option. Register on your own and the share stays with the operator. Register through somebody and part of it comes back to you. The only real decision is who that somebody is and how much of it they return.

Where the money comes from

Rake is the cut the operator takes from each pot or tournament fee. A portion of that is set aside for the person or company that referred you, and the arrangements differ by platform.

In a classic desktop room the deal is usually a straightforward percentage of your monthly rake, paid on a schedule. In club apps it is more layered: your club sits inside a union, an agent handles your balance, and the percentage that reaches you depends on the terms negotiated between those parties.

The practical consequence is the same in both. The money exists, it is being paid to somebody, and the question is only how much of it reaches the player.

What separates a good arrangement from a bad one

Percentage is what everyone advertises and it is not the most important number.

Look at the rake first. A high percentage returned on a high rake can pay you less than a lower percentage on a normal one, and the second figure is the one nobody volunteers. Ask for both.

Then look at how you get paid. Weekly settlement in a currency you can actually use beats a bigger headline number paid late, or paid in chips you then have to move somewhere. A percentage only counts once it arrives.

And look at what happens when something goes wrong. Apps freeze payouts occasionally, clubs close, disputes happen. What you want to know is whether the person you registered through carries the balance themselves or simply forwards your message to somebody who does. That difference only shows up on a bad day, which is exactly when it matters.

The questions to ask before you register

  • What is the rake, and what percentage of it comes back to me?
  • How often is it paid, and through what?
  • Which union is the club in, and who is the agent?
  • Is there an exit lock if I want to leave?
  • Who carries my balance if the app freezes a payout?

Anything that will not be answered in writing before you deposit should be treated as an answer in itself. These are ordinary questions and a serious operator will not mind them.

Registering on your own is the expensive option

The most common mistake is signing up directly, usually because it feels simpler or more independent.

It is neither. The referral share is built into the room's economics whether you claim it or not, so registering alone does not save anyone money, it just routes your share back to the operator. For a player putting in volume at low or mid stakes, that share is often the difference between a break-even year and a winning one.

The one thing worth knowing in advance: most operators cannot move an existing account onto a deal after the fact. If you already registered directly, ask anyway, because in club apps it is sometimes possible where in classic rooms it is not.

What we do

We have run poker clubs since 2019, across five mobile apps and more than twenty clubs. We are the official representative of Suprema Poker in Russia and the CIS, and our flagship club there is OASIS, ID 77777.

Holding union positions rather than only referring players changes what we can offer. Player rakeback runs up to 60% depending on the club, the agent and your volume, and players generating more than $500 in rake per week get separate terms. We also run an agent cash desk, which lets you move funds between clubs, unions and even between different apps without cashing out and back in each time.

That last part is the one people underestimate until they need it. Moving money between platforms independently is slow and lossy; through one cash desk it is neither.

For classic desktop rooms we act as an affiliate in the ordinary sense, and those room reviews say so plainly. The economics are the same, the operational involvement is not, and we would rather you know which is which.

What we will not tell you

Nobody can promise you a winrate, and any deal presented as a guarantee of profit is being sold dishonestly. Rakeback improves the arithmetic of a game you can already beat. It does not turn a losing player into a winning one, and at a bad table it does not save you either.

What it does do is meaningful at low and mid stakes, where rake decides so much of the outcome. That is a real edge and it is worth taking. It is just not a substitute for picking the right game.

Frequently asked questions

What does a poker affiliate actually do?

They introduce players to a room or club app and receive a share of the rake those players generate. A serious one returns most of that share to the player and handles the account, the deal and the payouts.

Does registering through an affiliate cost me anything?

No. The referral share is part of the operator's economics either way. Registering directly does not save you money, it just leaves that share with the operator instead of returning part of it to you.

What is a normal rakeback percentage?

It varies widely by platform, club and volume, which is why any single advertised number should be checked against the rake it applies to. In our clubs it runs up to 60% depending on the club, the agent and how much you play.

Can I get a deal on an account I already registered?

Sometimes in club apps, rarely in classic rooms. It is worth asking rather than assuming, but plan on registering through someone from the start.

How do I know an affiliate will actually pay?

Ask how long they have operated, who carries the balance if an app freezes a payout, and whether the terms come in writing before you deposit. Then start small. A first settlement arriving on time tells you more than any promise.

Where to start

Decide the format and limits you want to play, then ask about the rake before the percentage. That order stops most bad deals from looking good.

For our current terms, message @supremaunion with what you play and roughly what volume. If you are still choosing a platform, the fields differ a lot across the apps we run clubs in.

18+. Play within your means. Rakeback improves the maths of a game you can beat; it does not guarantee a profit.
