How Rakeback Works in Club Poker: 60% of What, Paid How

Rakeback in club poker apps is a share of the rake you paid, paid back weekly by the club. What “up to 60%” means, what it is counted on and when it arrives.

Rakeback is a share of the rake you paid, returned to you by the club. In our clubs it runs up to 60 percent, is counted weekly on the rake your own hands generated, and is paid by the club owner: through the agent who brought you, or to you directly. Pay 100 dollars of rake in a week on a 40 percent deal and 40 dollars comes back on the next weekly cycle. Everything else on this page is detail on those three sentences.

What rake is and who takes it

Every raked pot pays a percentage to the house. In club poker "the house" is a chain, not one company. The app takes its share per hand. The union takes a share and funds the jackpots, the tournament guarantees and the weekly settlement out of it. The club keeps its band, and out of that band the owner pays the agents who bring players and the rakeback those players were promised. The rake itself is set by the club owner inside the range the union allows for its field, so two clubs in one union can rake differently. The usual setting in club apps is 5 percent of the pot with a cap of 3 big blinds, taken only on pots that see a flop; some clubs lower the percentage at higher stakes or raise the cap for five-card games, so the club's own table settings are the number that counts.

Why it is "up to" 60 percent

Nobody can name a single number before they know what you play. The deal depends on the club you sit in, the limits you play and your volume. A player putting in steady hours at NL25 generates more rake than a weekend NL2 player, and the share the club can return follows that. On this site the figure is always written as a ceiling, up to 60 percent, because the exact number is agreed with you before your first deposit, not advertised. Anyone quoting a flat 60 percent before asking what you play is quoting the ceiling, not your deal.

Ladders: why your percentage can grow

Some clubs run a rakeback ladder: the percentage rises with the rake you generate in the period, counted weekly or monthly depending on the club. Whatever step you land on, the number assigned to that step is paid by the club. A ladder is a way to pay regulars more, not a way to pay less: the rakeback you were assigned is always paid. Our clubs do not use ladders: the percentage agreed before your first deposit is the percentage you are paid, on every week's rake.

The arithmetic on one week

Rake you paid30% deal40% deal50% deal
50 $15 $20 $25 $
100 $30 $40 $50 $
300 $90 $120 $150 $

The table is the whole mechanism. Rakeback does not depend on whether you won or lost the week, it is paid on the rake, and that is why it matters more to a break-even player than any strategy adjustment: a 40 percent return on rake is a winrate on its own.

What the percentage is counted on

Before the first deposit, ask what the percentage applies to: the full rake your hands paid, or the rake after jackpot and insurance contributions. In our clubs it is the full rake, nothing is deducted first. Ask whether tournament fees count: where they do, rakeback is paid on the fee part of the buy-in, not on the buy-in itself, so a 100 dollar tournament with a 10 dollar fee adds 10 dollars to your rake. In our clubs tournament fees count the same way as cash rake. Get both answers in writing, alongside the percentage itself.

When and how it is paid

Weekly. The union settles with the club on a fixed cut-off, the club settles with its agents, and the rakeback reaches you on that cycle, through your agent or directly from the club. A club inside a union has a settlement day fixed by the union, not by one person, which is why "which union is above the club" is the first question on our safety page.

What changes the number

  • Your limits and your volume: the two inputs every deal is quoted from.
  • The club's band: the share of rake the union leaves to the club. A club on a higher band has more to pass on.
  • The ladder step you reached in the period, in clubs that run one. Ours do not.
  • The agent's share, where an agent brought you: the owner splits the band between the player's rakeback and the agent's commission, agreed before the first player sits down.

How to check the number

Club apps keep per-player statistics inside the club, including the rake your hands paid. Ask your agent or the club for that figure for the week and set it against the rakeback you were credited: the two should match the percentage you agreed. One cycle is enough to see whether a deal is what it was quoted as.

FAQ

What is rakeback in poker?

A share of the rake you paid, returned to you. In club apps it is counted weekly on your own hands and paid by the club owner, through your agent or directly.

Is 60 percent rakeback real?

It is a ceiling, not a flat rate. The exact figure depends on the club, your limits and your volume, and is agreed before your first deposit.

When is rakeback paid?

Weekly, on the settlement cycle of the union your club sits in.

Who pays rakeback, the app or the club?

The club. The app takes its share of rake and has no part in rakeback. The club owner pays it out of the club's band, to the agent who brought you or to you directly.

Is rakeback paid on gross rake or after deductions?

In our clubs on the full rake, with tournament fees counted. Elsewhere both exist, so ask before you deposit.

What is a rakeback ladder?

A scale some clubs use where the percentage rises with the rake you generate in the period. The step you reach is the rate you are paid; the assigned rakeback is always paid by the club. Our clubs pay one agreed percentage without a ladder.
