How to finish a session properly?
We would like to recommend you 3 successive points:
1️⃣ Calm down your mind.
Our mind calms down well when we sum up some results, conclusions. And it’s good to give yourself an impetus for future work. As an option, answer 2 questions after the session: what difficulties did I encounter in this session and what will I do next time to solve these difficulties. It is desirable to reflect in a written and detailed form for 15 minutes. Keeping a diary (session or emotional) in the form of ordinary entries or, in the form of a table helps you to calm down your mind, mark on scales how the A-game was shown during the session, how focused you were, what was your state after the session, etc. What is interesting to track can be included and summed up.
2️⃣ Relax your body.
You can do breathing practice to let all these emotions out with your breath. You can do any relaxation exercises from YouTube. Stretching is very good at relieving tension from the muscles. Due to it your body goes into a non-stressed state.
3️⃣ Distract from poker
Switch your attention to other things. It can be some kind of non-poker light video on topics which are interesting for you from YouTube or any other social networks for 20 minutes.
Regardless of whether you have some things planned or you are just going to bed after the session, it is better to have a post-session schedule for 30-40 minutes. This routine can just include everything that we described above. It will help separate poker from your daily routine, recovery and rest regime.
