8 signs you're not good for deep MTTs

1️⃣ You don't push any two cards against a less experienced player in a blind to blind situation when he has 6 to 9bb. The BB calling range is very wide in this situation. But inexperienced players don't want to risk their tournament life with K4o or Q4s when big money is at stake.

2️⃣ With a stack of 15-25bb you are afraid to 3bet push with low pocket pairs, suited broadways and weak aces against an open raise from late position.

3️⃣ You are trying to sit out the bubble. Even with an average stack on the bubble, there are plenty of opportunities to exploit players with large stacks.

4️⃣ With a stack of 15-30bb, you don’t 3bet in the bluffs often enough with aces and kings offsuit against an open-raise from the late position, especially when a player with a large stack appears. Even under pressure from ICM with a 15bb stack we can 3bet/fold. Solver recommends 3-betting/folding some offsuit aces against a wide open range from CO. And this is on a straight bubble!

5️⃣ You constantly think about prize payouts and those payouts from which your strategy changes (that's why you play either too tight or too aggressively). Money should not worry you. You cannot control how much you win. Focus on your strategy.

6️⃣ You ignore the choice of opponents at the table. We know how table select works in cache. The same is true in tournaments. Choose your opponents wisely. You don't have to play against the strongest player every hand when there are many weaker opponents at the table (but don't be afraid to play new hands against him).

7️⃣ With a stack of 15-20bb, you open-push too wide from HJ and earlier positions. Based on ICM, you should push less often as you risk your stack for a few blinds. Such pushes are unlikely to bring profit (+$ EV). Play tighter but still continue to open-raise. We often see people push small pairs in finals with HJ, CO and even MP with 15-20bb stacks. It's often better just to open-raise/fold

8️⃣ Expect good cards in situations where you can literally 3-bet bluff with any two cards. There are many situations where players have a lot of leaks in their open-raising and defensive ranges against 3-bets. Poker becomes very exploitative in the later stages of tournaments. But before you think about the exploit, you should learn the correct ranges of preflop play in ICM..
